Here at A World of Discoveries in beautiful Columbia, Missouri, we believe that every day brings a chance for the children in our daycare to learn and discover more about themselves and about the world around them, be it through sharing a toy with a friend or solving a multiplication problem. Our daily activities include fine motor skills and gross motor skills development, as well as dramatic play, where kids can use their imagination in creative and fun ways. We emphasize learning to be independent with our preschool program, as well as language development. Finally, we give our kids paint and more to explore the art world. We treat each child in our daycare center as an incredible, unique and gifted individual who through compassion, caring, and curriculum will grow to be a beautiful person. Deciding on which daycare to place your child in can be a very difficult decision. We are so glad you came our way! We know there are many different factors to consider when choosing the right fit for your family. At A World of Discoveries Daycare, we offer the comfort and home-like atmosphere that you would find at an in-home daycare, along with the child care services, amenities and affordability that you find with bigger daycare centers.
Location
We are located in Columbia, Missouri on a three-building campus nestled directly behind Hickman High School. We’re proud to have been providing Columbia with child care for over 20 years. A World of Discoveries is fully staffed by trained and college educated providers. Each of our buildings has their own large, shaded playgrounds and top-of-the-line jungle gym equipment so your child remains strong and active. The children thrive in our state-licensed daycare. We promote learning and development with our age-appropriate programs that include art, science, math, and other learning activities.
Payment
We accept private payment and FSD Child Care Assistance, please feel free to ask if you need any help or information regarding state aid. Here at AWOD, we don’t believe in overcharging our families. We make sure that our parents never pay more than your state regulated sliding fee! We are here to provide safe, nurturing, and educational experiences at an affordable rate. We recommend staying two weeks ahead on your child’s account, and we are happy to help parents with payment plans and schedules.
Openings
We currently have openings for ages 2–12 years old. We offer contracts for all hours of the day, from the usual daylight time well into the evening and night! If you are needing child care anytime from 6 am to 11:30 pm, please give us a call.
Meals
We provide warm, nutritious meals prepared fresh daily for the children. We make sure that our meals abide by all Missouri State regulations and meet the needs of growing bodies and minds.
Before & After School Care
Do you need before and after school care? We understand that your work schedule can’t always align with your little one’s school schedule. That’s why we offer before and after school care! We also offer transportation for children going to Title One Pre–School and Park Ave Pre–School. Ask us for more information!
